On 29th and 30th of April the National Youth Council of Ireland held a 2-day residential seminar to bring young people and policy-makers closer together to have conversations about the new EU Youth Strategy- in particular the focus on "Youth in the World" in the Strategy.

The seminar was well attended by young people, youth leaders and others involved in the provision of youth services. IDEA facilitated 2 workshops on Creative Approaches to Global Youth Work, during which participants generated new ideas for implementing the Actions form the Youth in the World part of the Strategy. IDEA director Matthias Fiedler was part of a panel discussion in the afternoon that explored the relations between youth work in Europe and international development co-operation.
