Membership of IDEA is open to anyone who is committed to providing, promoting or advancing development education throughout the island of Ireland and who shares IDEA's vision and mission.

Members receive:

• Our fortnightly E-Circular, informing you of all upcoming IDEA events, training opportunities, funding and job opportunities.
• Regular email contact in relation to events and training opportunities specific to your sector.
• Free or reduced rates to IDEA events and trainings
• Opportunities to network and meet with other development education organisations
• Opportunities to contribute to the work of IDEA through our National Council and our Working Groups
• Representation on your behalf to policy makers and funding bodies
• Access to the IDEA online member-only space, including document-sharing and discussion fora.
• Access to the Development Education Database of Training (DE DoT) where you can promote your training courses, find a training to suit you or be listed as a freelance educator.
• Promotion of your organisation through our website listing of members

    

The procedure for membership is that an application form is completed and submitted to the National Council who have the final approval on all membership applications. This can be made at any time of the year. Membership is for the calendar year. The National Council meet every 2 months and decide the appropriate category of membership. Applicants will be informed as soon as possible after the National Council meeting. If successful, members will then be invoiced for payment of the fee.
Membership Categories and Fees

1. Organisation- Full membership

Full voting rights – can nominate two members for election to the National Council, can send two representatives to the AGM, and has two votes per organisation at the AGM.

FEE- €50

2. Individual- Full membership

Full voting rights – can nominate two members for election to the National Council, and is entitled to one vote at the AGM.

FEE- €20

3. Organisation- Associate membership

Will receive all the benefits listed above except involvement in IDEA’s governance (no voting rights and cannot nominate members for election).

FEE- €40

4. Individual- Associate membership

Will receive all the benefits listed above except involvement in IDEA’s governance (no voting rights and cannot nominate members for election).

FEE- €15
