Description of Work in DE

I provide workshops to secondary school students, who are usually in Transition Year. The workshops use creative approaches and methodologies, which are learner-centred. Participants are actively engaged in exploration and discussion of issues in order to foster a better understanding and deeper knowledge of global issues. I engage students in using participatory tools and group learning approaches to allow participants/students to explore how interconnected we all are. Learning outcomes include increased knowledge, critical analysis of issues, reflection, and understanding what steps to take for local and global citizenship and participation in creating a more just and equal world. TITLES of Workshops: Gender Equality; Migration and Gender; Gender and Climate Change I also lecture in UCC on the Global Human Rights and Development Diploma and the Women's Studies Diploma run by ACE in UCC. These involved teaching a diverse range of adults who are continuing their education and modules taught include; Migration, Gender and Development and Development Theories.
