Description of Work in DE

From April 2011 - January 2015 I have facilitated workshops on environmental sustainability and climate justice for Suas Educational Development approximately 2 or 3 times per year. Durating that time I also developed a workshop for MA students on the challenges and complexities of acting in solidarity with community based campaigns, and have also developed and hosted a series of workshops and weekend gatherings for adult activists to share and exchange campaigning practice. I used to work as Youth for Sustainable Development Programme Coordinator at ECO-UNESCO (October 2009 - April 2011) and before that as Youth for Sustainable Development Project Officer (April 2009 - Sept 2009). More recently I have become student again, doing post-primary teacher training and will be registering as a teacher of CSPE / Citizenship and Science (Chemistry and Biology) in 2015. I would like to keep learning about what's going on in the world of development education in Ireland and to bring what I can with me in the post-primary sector (I was surprised that neither development education or ESD were addressed in my training in CSPE methodologies.)
