Description of Work in DE

I spent 12 weeks in Temuco, Chile on a volunteer placement with EIL Ireland. Here I worked in a Home for Girls, helping girls aged 6 to 18 with various school subjects, meals, general upkeep & supervision. I have participated in various campaigns & charity events to raise money and awareness for various causes, one example is the 6-Items Challenge, organised by Labour Behind the Label. This challenge involves reducing your wardrobe to just 6 items for the 40 days of Lent - highlighting Fast Fashion culture & our unsustainable need for new clothes, new styles, and pressure to keep up with fashion trends. If consumers really knew where their clothes came from, if they could see the conditions they were produced... perhaps they would reconsider their purchases. I also managed to get the worlds only Fair Trade clothing company, People Tree, stocked in a small Dublin clothes shop as a result of taking part in this challenge!
