Description of Work in DE

My work in the past seven years includes contributions to the Development education Policy and Practice journal in Belfast. In 2015 my article was included in a book compilation of as one of the 20 most referenced articles. I have also contributed to the publication of the first quarter titled "Campaigning and Development education in an era of a diffused knowledge arena". Earlier this year I submitted my completed PhD thesis which explore the knowledge dimension of NGO campaigning on global poverty from a network society perspective. During this research, I interviewed three leading NGOs, CAFOD Oxfam and Trocaire all included in the study. In the course of the study I have presented in various academic conferences in the UK and Germany. Prior to my PhD study, I was a registered individual member of IDEA and resigned due to the pressure of my programme. My interest in development education is in the area of improving public deliberation as a way of multiplying knowledge and public understanding about global poverty. I also have an interest in exploring the role of NGO campaigning, and campaigners as catalysts for multiplying public understanding in the digital communication era and transnational virtual publics.
