Challenging the Crisis Launch
Start Date: 11/05/2015 End Date: 11/05/2015
Event Location: European Parliament Information Office, 43 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2
In times of economic crisis it is easier to focus on the challenges at home and not consider wider global issues. Despite signs of recovery young people continue to be disproportionately affected by poverty and austerity both in the EU and at a global level.
In response to this a group of young people from the countries most affected by the Eurozone crisis are leading Challenging the Crisis, a pan-European campaign to raise awareness and empower EU citizens as global development advocates. Join these Young Global Advocates for the launch of their campaign for a more just and equal global society through Social and Solidarity Economy.
Speakers include: Lynn Boylan, MEP, Mairead McGuinness, MEP, Isabelle Kidney, Irish League of Credit Unions, and representatives from the Challenging the Crisis Young Global Advocate team.
Hosted by: IDEA - the Irish Development Education Association
