Impact Masterclass for Development Education

IDEA is running an Impact Masterclass led by Philip Isard of Quality Matters. This online training will focus on measuring impact in educational work, particularly in the area of Development Education/Global Citizenship Education. Participants will be led through an interactive session that will address how to identify your impact (know what to look for), how to measure it and then how to articulate it (internally/reporting etc.) There will also be shorter follow-up sessions available to training participants – more details to follow.

About the trainer:  Philip Isard is a Senior Project Specialist with Quality Matters. Philip works as a senior consultant, researcher and educator for community and voluntary organisations, charities, non-for-profits and social enterprises and has significant experience in impact measurement training. Quality Matters is a not-for-profit organisation (CHY 20771) established in 2012 as the first Irish charity with a specific focus on supporting continuous quality improvement in social and public services.

Cost: €25 for members of IDEA and €40 for non-members – the fee includes participation in the training workshop, and any follow-up session, as well as handouts and materials.

Please note that this registration is limited to one participant per IDEA member due to high demand. We will create a waiting list for other interested partites. After the closing date for registration  (22 April) we will seek to accommodate those on the waiting list.

In this first of its kind residential Lab, we will create space where members can bring their ideas for projects and try out new planning and design methods. Participants will have the opportunity to work on an idea from scratch to (almost) finish with the support of expert trainers and learn through group exchange in a welcoming and inspiring setting. Participants will come out of the training with: An early project design proofed, tested and built through group feedback, iteration, trialling and support. New approaches in designing innovative projects they can apply to their workplace Headspace and time to work on the design of an innovative project A chance to actively learn through group exchange and strengthen the sense of an innovative community of practice in Ireland How? Participants must register as a team of 2min.- 4 max. Participants without a team member will be asked to pair up with other individual participants or find a partner outside their organisation. Cost : This training is funded by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and offered at a reduced rate. This training is only available to IDEA members. Non-IDEA members can participant as part of an IDEA member team.
