Working Collaboratively: What, Why and How

Start Date: 11/05/2015 End Date: 11/05/2015

Event Location: IDEA Offices
6 Gardiner Row,
Dublin 1,
Ireland.

Working collaboratively with another organisation can help both partners to access new skills and expertise, reach new target groups, reduce operational costs and achieve shared objectives. Yet many organisations shy away from collaborative work, due to concerns about financial or legal implications, or worries about its impact on their organisation’s identity.

If your organisation is considering collaborative work, this workshop is an essential first step! Using participatory methodologies, the workshop will:

  • explore the benefits and challenges of collaborative work
  • examine different models for collaboration
  • identify the key steps that need to be taken in order to build a successful collaboration.

This active-learning workshop will be facilitated by Kieran Murphy of Wholestory Management Consultancy. Kieran has a great deal of experience in managing collaborations, through his past roles as chairperson of the Advocacy Initiative and director of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Ireland, and through serving on numerous boards of community and voluntary organisations.

Time: 9:30 -13:00, followed by lunch

Cost: IDEA members €25, non-members €75
