Irish Aid Grants for Global Citizenship Education Call For 2024
The 2024 Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education Grants Call for Proposals is now open.
The call for proposals can be found at this link under the ‘Applying for Funding’ tab. It also includes links to
the Guidelines, FAQ documents, as well as information on DEAR co-funding.
Key dates include:
- Friday 27 October: Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education Grants Call for proposals published on Irish Aid website.
- Thursday 09 November, 1.00pm: Irish Aid Information Session on the GCE Grants. If you are interested, please register for the information session by emailing globalcitizenshipeducation@dfa.ie.
- Friday 10 November, 5.00pm: Completed eligibility forms must be submitted to the GlobalCitizenshipEducation@dfa.ie.
- According to information on the Irish Aid website, “Organisations who have not received global citizenship education funding in the past or if the organisation has not completed an eligibility form or been deemed eligible to apply over the last 3 years (2021, 2022 and 2023 call for proposals) must complete an eligibility form.”
- Our understanding is that organisations who last applied for multi-annual funding 3 years ago (even if you were successful) need to complete an eligibility form for this call.
- If you are unsure if you need to complete an Eligibility Criteria Form for this grants round, please contact Irish Aid directly. Organisations can request an Eligibility Form by emailing GlobalCitizenshipEducation@dfa.ie
- Tuesday 14 November 5.00pm, organisations which submit a completed Eligibility Criteria form will be notified of their eligibility.
- Friday, 15 December, 5.00pm: The completed application form, signed by the legal representative of the organisation (e.g. the CEO or the Chair of the Board) should be e-mailed to the
GlobalCitizenshipEducation@dfa.ie.

Date: Wednesday 26 November, 10.00am – 3.30pm Location: Richmond Barracks, Inchicore, Dublin 8, D08 YY05 IDEA is looking forward to welcoming all members of the Code of Good Practice for Development Education to our next Code network meeting on Wednesday, 26 November, in Richmond Barracks in Inchicore, Dublin. There are places for two representatives (staff, volunteers, etc.) from each Code member. One of the commitments in joining the Code is to contribute to the Community of Practice for this Code, including sharing successes and learning with other Code members and attending at least one of two Code network meetings annually. Over the past few months, IDEA and its members co-created a new strategic vision and roadmap for GCE in Ireland for the next five years. This is the successor to Vision 2025 and is called Vision 2030. We are delighted to announce that we will launch the publication of Vision 2030 on Tuesday 21 October 2025 in the Georgian Suite of Buswells Hotel, 23-27 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2, 12 noon – 12.45pm. Refreshments will be provided. Please save the date and register below for the event.
