Workshop: Financial Tools for Development Education Projects

As part of IDEA’s support on organisational management, we are running a workshop on ‘Financial Tools for Development Education Projects’ on Tuesday 28 March from 1.00 – 4.30pm in the IDEA office, 6 Gardiner Row, Dublin 1.

This workshop is targeted at Development Education practitioners (non-financial staff) who are seeking to upskill in the area of basic financial management of their projects. It will be facilitated by Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of Temple Street Foundation, a specialist in non-profit management and a lecturer in Finance in the Masters of Management for the Community and Voluntary Sector (All Hallows College/DCU).

The workshop is timed to take place in advance of Development Education grant applications for WorldWise Global Schools (April), Trócaire (June) and Irish Aid annual grants (Autumn). Denise will provide participants with a selection of tools for project budgeting and financial management (such as sample budgets, cash flow tools etc.) and the last hour of the workshop will be allocated to WorldWise Global Schools and Irish Aid (and possibly others) to share information about the financial aspects of their Development Education grants.

Workshop costs:

• IDEA Members: €20

• Non-members: €40

IDEA is seeking a consultant to support its team in organising the Annual Conference and 20th Anniversary on Wednesday 04 September. This will include support in various areas as described in the Terms of References. The IDEA annual conference is a core part of our work and has been held annually for over a decade. More information on all previous conferences is available on our website and specifically here for 2023 and here for 2022 . This year the theme focuses on the impact of GCE in Ireland and we will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of IDEA. Please submit your CV highlighting relevant experience, referees for similar work, and a brief proposed plan/methodology.
