CONVERSATION SERIES: Ethics and Fashion

Continuing the theme of Fashion Revolution Week, IDEA is hosting a conversation circle on Ethics and Fashion, Tuesday, 08 May, 12:30-2:00pm in the IDEA Office. This will be led by Rosie O'Reilly, Creative Director of Re-dress, and Maeve Galvin, Co-ordinator of Bridge 47: Building Global Citizenship. 

Rosie is Creative Director of Re-dress, a not-for-profit that seeks to develop a national awareness of the detrimental environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry. Re-Dress founded the Irish Better Fashion Week and the Irish branch of the Clean Clothes Campaign. They've also created the Better Fashion Schools Project to educate students and teachers about the implications of fast-fashion. Rosie is also the designer of the ethical fashion label, We Are Islanders. Maeve is currently the Co-ordinator of the Bridge 47: Building Global Citizenship project and has previously worked as Programme Advisor with the International Labour Organisation in Cambodia and Geneva and as Programme Manager with the C&A Foundation in Myanmar and Bangladesh. During that time her work focused on labour issues relating to the Garment Industry in those countries.

IDEA is seeking to engage an experienced auditing service firm that will provide the full range of auditing services required to fulfil its statutory obligations, to comply with relevant accounting and reporting standards and best practice. IDEA is looking for a video production company/ animator for an upcoming video project. We have funding available to create a short animated educational video resource for members as part of The Code of Good Practice. The video will help viewers understand what quality GCE is and why it matters in the world today. The intended audience for the video are people who are connected to the Code of Good Practice and GCE in their work but not yet very familiar with it e.g. non-GCE staff in member organisations, board members of member organisations, teachers, youth workers, European partners, new members to the Code and new staff to IDEA member organisations. Please submit your CV and a short letter of interest outlining a proposal for the video (including the number of days you envisage and the fee) to code@ideaonline.ie.
