WOWC: Social Saturday

Social Saturday is coming to Waterford!  This event highlights businesses and organisations that choose to do good as part of their work. Join Waterford One World Centre on Saturday, 23 September, from 12.00-5.00pm at the Kilmachthomas Workhouse (next to Coach House Coffee), just off the Greenway.  There will be lots to see and do for the whole family.  Ride your bike to Kilmachthomas and join in for a great day out.

There will be a main stage including music from Oatsie Jones and Kev Power, inspirational words from Dee Sewell of Greenside Up and Deirdre Rogers from ReCreate, a fashion show from Tramore’s Loved Again and Buy Me, a multidisciplinary performance about fashion.

There will be workshops from ReCreate: Creativity through Reuse, Greenside Up:  Rubbish or Garden Art? An Upcycling Workshop and Growing Your Own from Ballybeg Greens. Throughout the day there will free M Checks for your bikes from Treo and Rebike.

There will also be a selection of films to see that highlight social economy initiatives around Europe including Economy Changes: Change the Economy, To Live Worthy of this Land and Palmas.

This event is free of charge and everyone is welcome. Ride, walk or drive on down to Kilmachthomas and see what being social is all about.
